Ridgeway Rifle Club - Ridgeway, PA
Weather conditions were variable gusting winds (20-50mph the whole week) which impacted obtaining vernier settings. Had to walk many rounds up the hill. When settings were obtained, there were many 'close but no cigars' in addition to the 34 hits on Homer.

You might want to try Dan T 90 Gr Swiss load two compressions for that around 1300 fps in the 45/70, 50/40grs with 0.025 on first compression with newsprint and 40 grains to whatever it takes to seat your bullet. I think Dan used PJ'S Creedmoor. My PJ's MiniGees weigh 545 grs 1/20. Looks like you really knocked yourself out. 34 hits sounds great to me... Good show. Ed

I made and fired the 90 gr load in my Bus. Rife and survived not too bad on recoil. Did it informally at Dix so can't comment on accuracy but it seemed relatively good for the circumstance under which I fired. I would also compress 2nd time with paper then add the 0.060 poly wad to prevent case bulging.

Ed, note the Code N recipe: Lyman Postell with 68grs of Goex FFFg sifted - 7 hits. And the wind was a real bear shooting then. Was also surprised with the Lee 457-500-3R recipe with 4 hits and it shot the flattest too - 157 MOA

How was the leading if any. I now use Dan T hammer the tight patch after Kroil technique. I use 3.5 lb sledge and just tap it gently thought double patched on a study SS rod. Lead build up can screw up your test if it gets away and sometimes it is hard to notice.
Ed.

Triple F Swiss might be interesting to try if you are wiping between shots with 20/80 Ballistol/water.

How was the leading if any? Ed, I had ZERO leading with any of the recipes but wind? Had more than a sane person could stand, plus 2 days of rain

John, little secret, here, get her her own rifle and let her get hooked on it too. Really helps with the stuff you can buy and places you can go.

I gotta go along with Ranch 13; I know two different women that only shoot the long range stuff, there is something very Zen about zapping the buff.
my main goal is to make a true Billy Dixon shot: 1537 yard scratch shot.
